How to configure and use File Organizer

Configure the folder tree

Create the destination bins you want File Organizer to manage. For each bin, define one or several matching rules using:

  • File extensions.
  • Filename text.
  • An optional regular expression.

Put specific rules before broad catch-all rules so an item is assigned to the intended bin.

Organize a project

  1. Open the Premiere Pro project you want to organize.
  2. Save the project.
  3. Open File Organizer from blinkl.io.
  4. Review the active folder-tree configuration.
  5. Start the organization command.
  6. Review the number of bins created, files moved and errors returned.

File Organizer creates missing bins and moves matching items. Review unmatched files manually and adjust the rules before running it again.

Test new regular expressions on a copy of the project or a small bin before using them on a large production project.
