The steps below use Beat Detector as an example, but the same process works for any Premiere Pro or blinkl.io action.

  1. Open the extension.
  2. Type the name of the action you want to assign a shortcut to

(for example: Beat Detector).

  1. Select the action from the list.
  2. Press Control + Shift + K (Windows) or Command + Shift + K (Mac).

  1. Press the keys you want to bind as a shortcut.

The shortcut is saved automatically.

Use the shortcut

Once assigned, press your shortcut at any time to run the selected action directly in Premiere Pro.

Edit a shortcut

You can edit an existing shortcut at any time.

There are two ways to do it.

Edit from the command list

  1. Open the extension.
  2. Type the command you want to edit.
  3. Select the command.
  4. Click Bind custom hotkey or press Control + Shift + K (Windows) / Command + Shift + K (Mac).
  5. Enter the new key combination.

The shortcut is updated automatically.

Edit from Settings

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Hotkeys.
  3. Find the command under Custom Command Hotkeys.
  4. Click the edit icon.
  5. Press the new keys to assign.

You can also delete the shortcut from this panel if needed.

Why use shortcuts

Custom shortcuts allow you to:

  • Execute actions instantly
  • Reduce mouse usage
  • Speed up repetitive editing tasks

You can assign shortcuts to any native Premiere Pro action or any blinkl.io action.

Conclusion

Shortcuts let you trigger any Premiere Pro or blinkl.io action instantly, helping you maintain a fast, keyboard-focused editing workflow.
