Send blinkl.io logs manually when the app cannot open
Use this method only if blinkl.io cannot open
If blinkl.io opens normally, use Settings → General → Logs → Generate log archive. The app creates a file named blinkl-logs_<timestamp>.zip and reveals it in Finder or File Explorer.
Use the manual steps below when the app cannot open, the built-in collector fails, or support specifically asks for the temporary log folder.
Before collecting the logs
- Reproduce the problem if possible.
- Close blinkl.io immediately after the error.
- Note the approximate time when the problem occurred.
- Avoid relaunching the app repeatedly before collecting the files, because newer activity can make the relevant logs harder to identify.
Windows
- Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
- Enter the following path and select OK:
%TEMP%- In the folder that opens, find the io.blinkl folder.
- Right-click io.blinkl, then choose Compress to ZIP file. On older versions of Windows, choose Send to → Compressed (zipped) folder.
- Send the resulting io.blinkl.zip file to blinkl.io support. If the file is too large for the chat, upload it to SwissTransfer and send the private download link.
macOS
- Open Terminal from Spotlight with ⌘ + Space.
- Enter the following command and press Return:
open "$TMPDIR"- In the Finder window that opens, find the io.blinkl folder.
- Control-click or right-click io.blinkl, then choose Compress “io.blinkl”.
- Send the resulting io.blinkl.zip file to blinkl.io support. If the file is too large for the chat, upload it to SwissTransfer and send the private download link.
If the folder is missing or empty
Reproduce the problem once more, then check the temporary folder again without reopening blinkl.io several times. If the folder is still missing or empty, contact support and include:
- Your operating system and version
- Your blinkl.io version, if known
- The approximate time of the error
- A screenshot or the exact error message
These details help support investigate even when no log archive can be collected.
